Just another day

Today is just another day, a day of living a normal life, a day of walking, a day of thought, a day of making a fool out of your self. The last one I do, often. I don't have much time, but I suppose I can spare a sentence or seven. What a lovely Spring it has been. Can you believe, that with the stagnant air, and sweltering temps, it isn't even Summer yet? Tomorrow is going to be 90! 89 for formal day. (=]) I mean, sure. I have the stresses of a normal teenager, maybe less so. But formal?! I can't wait. I really can't wait. It's going to be so much fun. I look nice, with the stuff I have. Okay, I hate it, but I see it as the type of thing people won't think looks hideous on me. Friday... 2 more days. Some rain, but that won't put a damper on my parade. It's the end of 8th grade! Why not just Kick It and have some fun? Well, I would. Our teachers like to inundate us with work. I feel bad more so for Chiara and Jess. They have so much more coming up...I'll put a link to some posts of theirs that show that in a bit. If I don't get back to ya, goodnight, youse. So, Chiara's is here, and Jess's is here.

what a short long weekend...

Well, it did fly by. It was crazy. From the city on Friday, nothing on Saturday, nothing on Sunday, even nothing on Monday!!! Okay, I lied. I went too... this American Legion thing on Monday. A nice ceremony. Then there was food. It was really nice... Ta-ta for now! =]

A 21 gun salute

As we stand here looking At the flags upon these graves Know these flags represent A few of the true American brave They fought for their Country As man has through all of time Except that these soldiers lying here Fought for your country and mine As we all are gathered here To pay them our respect Let's pass this word to others It's what they would expect I'm sure that they would do it If it were me or you To show we did not die in vein But for the red, white and blue. Let's pass on to our children And to those who never knew What these soldiers died for It's the least we can do Let's not forget their families Great pain they had to bear Losing a son, father or husband They need to know we still care No matter which war was fought On the day that they died I stand here looking at these flags Filled with American pride. So as the bugler plays out Taps With its sweet and eerie sound Pray for these soldiers lying here In this sacred, hallowed ground. Take home with you a sense of pride You were here Memorial Day. Celebrating the way Americans should On this solemnest of days. Michelle Keim, Memorial Day Tomorrow is Memorial Day, the day we spend just a little time to remember those that have fought for and preserved our freedom. Without them, who knows, we might be speaking German right now, and today might be National Hitler Day, or National Fascist Party Day. (Nationaler Tag von Hitler, Nationaler Tag von Faschistisch.) We might all be required to read an exceprt or two from good old Mein Kampf daily. We might all be in green tunics, bowin every day, chanting Heilam Hitler, or Vive Le Moussolini. Well, whatever the, I'm happy being an American, and not sitting around sipping tea and crumpets, and putting the Queen on my money. We are American. Have you ever asked yourself what American truly is? American... A·mer·i·can /əˈmɛrɪkən/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uh-mer-i-kuhn] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective 1. of or pertaining to the United States of America or its inhabitants: an American citizen. 2. of or pertaining to North or South America; of the Western Hemisphere: the American continents. 3. of or pertaining to the aboriginal Indians of North and South America, usually excluding the Eskimos, regarded as being of Asian ancestry and marked generally by reddish to brownish skin, black hair, dark eyes, and prominent cheekbones. –noun 4. a citizen of the United States of America. 5. a native or inhabitant of the Western Hemisphere. 6. an Indian of North or South America. 7. American English. 8. a steam locomotive having a four-wheeled front truck, four driving wheels, and no rear truck. Thank you, dictionary.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx But, that says so little. Americans, bluntly put, are the runt of the litter, the garbage that was too dirty for city dumps, the criminals that were too horrendous for the judiciary system. (The English put worst criminals into Georgia, without any restrictions in the 1700's.) This is not true any more, but because of all of this, immigration, forced labor, even slavery, we are who we are today. I am not promoting the practice of slavery, or the actions of many during that time. I am simply stating that, we are Americans. Americans come from a very controversial past. We were a bunch of toddlers with sticks compared to the Royal Navy and Royal Armed Forces in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. We should not have won those wars, but we did, making us who we are. Americans. From the slums of Ye Olde Haarlem, to the booming section of Downtown Manhattan, we are American. Any way you look at it, be it diagonal or vertical. We are Americans, and even though we cannot say we have an official language in this Mixing Pot, we are the strongest country the world has today, and none of that would be possible without our controversial past. None of this would be possible without our Armed Forces. So, in memoriam, let us remember the hurt, the injured, through to the Founding Fathers. We are American.

Pure Utterances...

Well, I'm here in the city, so I cannot chat long. I look like a lobster. I thought I don't burn...but so much for that. That's what you get for walking 3 + hours under the relentless influence of the big glowing orb thingy. Well, here. This is why I am posting from a laptop, which I love, fyi. I am posting because I wanted to show those of you that do not know our science teacher, to meet him. Thise, ladies and gentleman, is Mr. Mesic. Say hi! (The tall dude.)

"The only reason you're still alive is because Jack Bauer doesn't want to clean up the mess."

Okay. So, 24 is on. This is the long~awaited season finale. This was going to be meaningful, but I'm busy. "24 is on? Oh. I think I'm sick."

"Through the looking glass of life..."

Here I sit, on this gloomy day. It is positively bleak day outside. I'm here, drinking some milk, eating a coffee cake, and what~not. I'm also watching television. The Yankees/Mets game, but don't talk about that. It only makes me depressed. Well, it is finally the weekend. I tend to use some time on the weekend to reflect on the week's happenings. Lord knows, I've had too many to count, this week. Though not all of them were pivotal...I can point out at least two that were simply momentous. While much has been taking place, there is much more to come. I can see it already! I can visualize Jess, Chiara, and I eating donuts next to Mr. Mesic on a crisp Saturday morning, and Christian in the background sipping tea and crumpets. I would spill...just a bit on my week, but dear old Blogspot is not a journal. Lately, I've been thinking how much my life has changed since 7th grade. I mean, for beginners, the people I hang out with. Okay, okay. I hung out with some weird people in 7th grade. I mean...I still do. Just, some of these people...I got to see who they really were, and I didn't like it. I won't name any names, COUGHCOUGHCOUGHmaxCOUGHCOUGH. So I've gone from hanging with them to people like Chrisitian , and good old BSchnab. (And little old Jew boy NO OFFENSE. =]) Ahh, that good old Samuel "Smack That" S...[[no last name]]. Of course, there are the others that I would never forget, like Jess, Meghan, and Chiara. They've always been there, they're just simply the best friends anyone could ever have, with the addition of Caitlin. Well, it's 7:08PM, so I b'est be going. I'll probably write a bit later. I guess the theme here is, to all of you that have always been there, even through my MAJOR screw-ups...THANK YOU. So...to my friendsss..... "So thatt'ssss what the ruler said to the rock..."

pic of the day 5/16

Well...I've missed out a bit. so here are 3 pictures. Captions, and all. [BTW, that last post I had to edit about 15 times. It really exploded. It was a mess. Like song players popped up ALL OVER THE PLACE. =] ] "Who are you calling a midget, giant?" "That's why elders tend to live in Nursing Homes..." "And this is when I say goodbye." =]

"Say Hey; A little better..."

What a wonderful weekend. I mean, really. Starting with Friday night, how could it possibly be more perfect? I had so much fun at a softball game on Friday night down by Memorial Park. (Fineeeee, two games. Double header. Meghan's team won both.) It was fun. I was out there until about...9:45 more or less. It was a perfect night. A lot of candy, pixy sticks, oh man, so much fun. It ended on a perfect note, too. Then yesterday I walked around town with Michelle and Meghan, took some embarrassing pictures, then they saw my dog with Chiara, and Jess joined the three of us later for a game at Memorial Park. That was nice, too. No where near as nice as Friday though. And then here's today. Today is rather...normal. Sure, another beautiful day. We're on the cusp of Summer. It's a great thing. OH! Then formal is coming up!!! That should be fun ☺ So, like I said. This weekend was amazing. Now it's back to school... =[. Hey, it might not be such a bad thing... I might actually be looking forward to part of it. I really wish it was Friday night again. Everything was just so PERFECT. The candy was good, it was a warm night...(Most of the time...then I got cold, but warmed back up not too much longer. Weird, huh?)...both softball games were really good...and then there's Rachel and DJ. I don't want to know why he was at her house. All I know is that they're both getting something other than the love from their mother on this Mothers' Day. Well, have a good one. Friday night, Friday night... Well on that note: "The perfect state of mind" Have a good one! ☻

Count count count count.

I have a counter now! Yay. Hopefully this works... =]

How about that!

Well, it's been quite a while since my last meaningful post. I have just had no time lately. Well, for your picture of the day... " The end to a perfect day. "

"Heaven Only Knows"

Today was a good day. I learned how to do a few more things...it was a fairly good day for me. My mother is on a 3-day trip to Boston for a seminar...and it's the warmest its been all year. Not everything is right, but why not seize the moment? You know? Be all that you can be, and if that isn't good enough, just sit back and have a good, long laugh. So for the picture I promised... I'm going to put captions now, too! I think this one speaks for itself... But it's going to be a long night for monkey... [[From Curious George]] =]

Woohhh!

[[Crazy people]] =P. Why do I know them?

What do you do when you blog?

This blog isn't really so far a reflection of my personality... I mean, it may be. This template really isn't, but it's nice. May I make a mention of a certain someone else's blog? I don't have link here...yet. Check back in a few and I might. The blog of Chiara. Her blog is amazing. Yes, I helped her with the Red Molly pictures, and even her beautiful template! She truly has a way with words. Like, seriously. I could read her work forever . It is truly amazing. Much of it is inspirational. I just wonder, how can someone have such a way with words? I mean, I hate to compare her to such a controversial and ominously infamous leader during the Second Great War, but Adolf Hitler had a way with words. Though he used his for evil, Chiara possesses much the same trait, but uses hers only for good, obviously. Maybe I am better off comparing her with the insatiable Dalai Lama. There. He has a way with words. [Hey...so does Shakespeare.] I wonder... to write such beautiful language, so inspiring, while it is a talent few are fortunate enough to possess, I believe that there are some things that can especially bring forth such talent. I know, personally, I do my best writing when I'm home alone, with my little fan on, perfectly comfortable, listening to some very, very nice music. [A song like Such Great Heights or even from time-to-time, Cansei de ser Sexy. The usual works, too, such as what I'm listening to, right now! [Which would be Here (In Your Arms)] Sometimes attributing such songs to a person or event helps, even more! I guess I can also write when I'm depressed, or down-in-the-dumps. Well, that's something I'd like to know. What do you do when you blog? Have a good night, =] Edit: 7:07 P.M. (Read Chiara's profile)

Television, television. American Idol.

So...let me start a simple situation. --- Your friend on the phone says something on American Idol is very interesting. ("Sanjaya is my papaya!") Well the TV next to you is off, and you can't find the remote. Now what do you do? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx So that happened to me... ...but, really... In today's society, who uses the old buttons to switch through channels on the TV anymore? I know I don't. Most people would rather spend hours, days, if not weeks to search for the remote, if they don't wish to watch that last channel it was left on. (Channel 2 on cable boxes.) So, tell me. What would you do? I sat. And waited. Wishing for the remote to mystically pop out of the covers, and hit me in the forehead. (Or preferably put itself in my hand.) Well, that didn't happen. I FOUND IT. YAY. YAY. Now I can watch American Idol, not that I do anyway. But when you're under the command of the one on the phone... ... Put a smile on. =] Edit 5/9 - 8:40 PM "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth... "

Phone... 5/8

So, today is actually a good day. Well, no. After two hours of grueling testing...you know, this has me thinking... Right, right. No last names. So, I might have another post before 9:00...maybe not. So I'm on the phone and alll, but now she stopped talking. So for your random picture today... I think I like this one. Mhm, I do. This is a picture from Austria. Here you go: Umm... this is in Austria. If something stresses you...just look at this. (Man, I wonder how the view is from one of its eyes!) =]

Okay, well....

I don't really have time to post RIGHT NOW, but I do have something to say. While...I may be a man of few....NEVERMIND. Those of you who know me well know I don't often SHUT UP. I have something to write about being in hicksville. I call it. Don't take it. ;] Edit: 5/9 - 9:01PM

Hmmmmmmm...

So, I'm just here again. Just blogging away. I need to change the link on this blog... Oh, so we had music class today. Boy, that was FUN. After seeing the talent a bunch of skaters and ghetto people really have, I must admit...they have none. It's quite funny, actually. No, rather more scary. Okay, well every day I'm going to have this random picture. Here it is for today, 5/7: ---Okay, now I think I should get back to 24. Bye. =] Woah. I'm tired. Too bad.

So...to start things off...

Not that I'm going to be very dedicated to this blog...this should be interesting. Yup. Okay. Alright, well the phone is ringing. Bye.
